BAND BIO:
The Avenues is a 10-piece band which specializes in rhythm and blues from the 50s, 60s,
and 70s. The band consists of: bass (Chuck Kleesattel), drums (Bruce Frodge), guitar
(Gary McCann), keyboard (John Mooter), saxophone (Terry Burnside), trombone (Bill
Hawkins), trumpet (Craig Hartje), and four vocalists (Scotty Keeton, Maurice "Tex" Ramsey,
Debi Schneider, and Beverly Blair). The Avenues were formed in 1990, and all members hail
from the Cincinnati area. The Avenues have been the opening act for groups such as the
Temptations, Dion and the Belmonts, and the Everly Brothers. Together the band totals
over 300 years of combined music playing experience. The Avenues occasionally perform at
wedding receptions, dances, concerts and clubs; they regularly appear at Jim & Jack’s on
River Road.
